all the fancy pinstriping down the side of my boat is all screwed up. thinking of removing it and painting a stripe. a big stripe, from about 4 inches above the water line up to the bottom of the rub rail. think i'll make her i real lite baby blue. what kind of paint should i use? was thinking of spray painting with fusion but i could use a friends bodyshop on a weekend if i need.
also, just gonna remove bow rail since its bent anyway. gotta fill the holes. how do i get paint to match? and will awlgrip work on the bow and topsides, or is it just for floors?tx guys

Awlgrip is THEE ticket, but a hell of a lot of work and not for many do it yourselfers. Do the whole rig in it if you have the money; or time, and equipment, and skill. A serious undertaking, but the best. The finish would look like new.

'Fusion'? ... You don't mean the spray cans from krylon!?

tx wiseguy. i'll have too look into this awlgrip stuff. i have no idea. hope its easier than repainting. and yea, i was talking about spray paint. i used that stuff on my old boat to paint a repair. came out pretty nice. but i am talking about a much bigger area for the stripe

Definitely awlgrip. Did mine last year and the stuff is really strong. Rolled and tipped it in my drive way. It really was easy to work with. We were only going to do the boot stipe but ended up doing the deck and cap too once we got the stripe done. Shines like new.

Ahh, I hate painting. Never seem to get the right brush or paint to stick. Was out today stripping of the paint on the stern and repainting it. Wanted to repaint the stern before bolting on the platforn so I can finally get some diving in.

tx guys. hey vic, i wanna paint mine about like yours but different color. how much did it take to do yours?

My V-21 is awlgripped and man it shines! It doesn't stain very easily like chalky gelcoat can tend to do. Good stuff, but I've never used it.
