A National Disgrace

My take on this election is that if Romney wins and does what he claims he'll do, then there is a possibility that the economy may turn around, and there will be a slowing of the national debt that is piling up. He is a social liberal, and his election will not cure anything, just forestall the inevitable.

If Obama wins we are ****ed monkeys in a shorter time, which may not be a bad thing. This mess will never be sorted out at the ballot box, so other options may come into play. A breakup of the Union may not be a bad thing for freedom loving people. Let the patriotic self reliant people have a place of their own where they can live in freedom and prosper. Let the socialist liberals have their own utopia, funded by THEIR money, and see how that works out.

Socialism is a big part of our problem. Taking from one by threat of force to give to another is nothing short of evil. It robs the one of their property, and robs the other other of their dignity and makes them beholden to the takers.

That's good hear that you are voting in this election Joe!. I hope many millions more that have not participated in the past will do so this election.

Yer doin' what I'm doin'...if it's an incumbent vote against it...Romney makes that very difficult, but that's what I'm doin' anyway...

and there so many thought I was voting fro Obama...:booty:

No doubt our nation's budget would be in better shape had Bunce & Crockett's observations been adhered to. It never should have started in the 1st place...on that I agree.

But we must deal w/what IS, not what should have been...and now that the system is in place, which individuals should we cut off first? Of course the 1st to go should be the freeloaders who abuse the system...baby makers for money and others manipulators. Then you cut off the next level and the next level and pretty soon you are cutting off aide to the soldiers who have given their all to this country and you and me as citizens...so of all the millions our country uses to help those in need, finding a starting point is easy...but where do you stop? Strictly according to Bunce and Crockett, even the soldier returning from battle w/out the arms and legs he had since birth are afforded no gov't assistance...So where do you stop, once you start cutting?
 
I want that POS out of office, but my biggest fear is he is working behind the "curtain"
1. to repeal the 2 term rule
2. Bankrupt the nation while he is president and then declare marshall law and put himself in as a dictator.


I'm not the smartest about politics but this is my fear when it comes to that ****head.
 
Oz, what you described is EXACTLY where we are headed, Greece, Spain Italy, etc.
They are making drastic cuts, pensions have been reduced, medical benefits are being cut from a already asinine socialist system in which doctors have fled and seniors are left to waste away.
Police and Emergency services are being cut.
Taxes are skyrocketing. France has instituted a 70% tax on so called millionaires.
The reason for all of this is they failed to head the warnings from those fiscally responsible people in their nations that have been warning about it.
Some of their cultures are incapable of being responsible and expect to be taken care of from cradle to grave due to decades of socialism.
We are about three percent of our population from being that majority dependent society.
This is freakin America

I know Romney is not the favorite of many but he does represent a change in direction. He is also not a right wing ideologue, I believe responsible reductions in the welfare state are needed immediately and we know Obama and the demo'progressive party will not do anything but increase our dependency. It is how they maintain power.
We need to get Romney in and force him to institute permanent changes.
Get involved with Tea Party Groups of your neighbors so we keep pressure on all of them in office.
We as Americans, this generation need to step up and save our Nation for our kids and their kids.
We need it now.
 
The only way to fix the system is to cut out ALL outside money to polititians...which will never happen because the guys who would make the change are the ones getting RICH off the current plan.

If a cop, or judge, or health inspector ends up a millionaire because he is taking in more money than his salary, he is called corrupt and everyone is outraged.

Millionaire Congressman? We call them successful and re-elect em.

Somehow we have to break the cycle, voting out all encumbents is a start...but we cant replace them with exact replicas.

We need people like Willy AND Reel to run for office!
 
Willy me joining the Tea Baggers is a non starter...SC elected a TB candidate for Governor after Sarah Palin flew her a$$ in and endorsed her. Now we are stuck w/an idiot who's allowed all state taxpayers SS numbers and tax information to be hacked...it's gonna cost more to cover her a$$ on this one than it would have to have put stronger measures in to begin with...but no, she had to save the money and now look what saving the money will cost the people of this state...Don't ever forget you heard it from ol Oz FIRST...Beancounters can show you how much they saved you, but they cannot show you what that savings COST you...hope you can understand that statement as you and you TB friends jerk funding from under programs that have been in place for decades...BEFORE YOU GO OFF, let me be clear...there's no question we HAVE TO CUT BACK SPENDING...I get it, but not like a bull in a China shop...before you cut, make the time to UNDERSTAND THE CONSEQUENSES of those cuts...unintended consequences will always cost you more than thoughtful planning...do it, but do it w/your brains and not your emotions...In the face of banks being hacked left and right Gov Haley stood up today and said the state used the same standards as banks to protect this data...BANKS?...are you kidding...that's like saying your house is built to CODE...that's the MINIMUM you'd want to live in...recruiting TB members?...you'll have to go elsewhere, thank you...my a$$ is still burning over my last TB encounter.

The place to start would be shutting down the majority of the Federal government, keeping the DOD/VA, Treasury (minus the IRS), a vastly reduced State Dept, Commerce Dept, and for a short time, DHHS.

Then eliminate all income and capitol gains taxes, remove all anti-business regulations, and turn private enterprise loose. The economy would BOOM, and there would be plenty of jobs for those on the public tit to move to the private sector. Institute a national sales tax that is fixed by law at 5% , with exemptions for purchases using savings that have already been taxed. Use short term borrowing from China to keep the drastically reduced federal government afloat until sales tax revenues can cover the budget. The displaced federal workers would have to go on welfare until they could find a private sector job, but this should have no effect on the national bottom line since they currently contribute 0% to the growth of the economy.

Social Security is a contract between the government and the people who's money was confiscated for this Ponzi scheme. The contract must be honored. Once the economy is booming and sales tax revenues increase, offer lump sum buyouts to SS recipients, and sales tax credits for those who have contributed but are not near retirement age.

The contract between the US and anyone joining the Armed Forces should include that wounded Veterans will receive whatever it takes to make them as 'whole' as possible for life, and that spouses of KIAs should receive retirement benefits for life.

The cure is to get the government out of the nanny business, and back to the scope spelled out in the US Constitution. They could start by sealing and defending our borders, and bouncing the illegals back to where they came from.

The above would be painful for some, but it would only take a couple of years to bear lasting fruit for our nation.
