Everything is the same but I took the new Vhf out for the new boat.
My Grady is here and I'm not loving two boats in the yard. (it is kinda cool though***55357;***56832;)

Hi guys.
I toasted a rod bearing and piston in my 200 merc.

That means it time to move up, I have a 22 Grady White on the way, so I have to get rid of the v20. It served me very well for 7 years. We've run the boat up to 50 miles offshore (probably farther than we should). We've caught a crapload of fish on this boat.

I've posted a copy of my craigslist ad below. If you have any questions let me know.

"New boat on the way. Gotta move this one!

Wellcraft v20 cuddy with a mercury with a bad rod bearing and piston in one cylinder.
Great boat with your motor or fix this one if you're handy. There are a few motors on Craigslist that would fit it perfectly!

Boat comes complete with bimini and full canvases front, sides and back. Custom bolster seats out of a searay amberjack (super comfortable). Starboard seat bases, passenger side with tackle storage. A folding removable bench seat on the spashwell. lowrance hds5 (fishfinder part doesn't work, chartplotter works great). An anchor pulpit and swim platform both crafted from Trex. A new 52 gallon poly fuel tank 5(?) years ago. Bennett trim tabs and bay star hydraulic steering.

Included is a single axle very road worthy trailer with newer (3 years?) non marking rollers, new tires and springs two years ago and new hubs and bearings last season.

Now the bad, the floor is a little soft in front of drivers seat and the boat has some cracks in the sill below the cuddy opening. The boat has years of fishing war wounds, chips, scratches. Great boat just a little cosmetically challenged.

This boat catches fish! The day before the motor died we went 30 miles offshore and caught a 450lb thresher shark.

If your interested let me know.
Looking for 2500 bucks or best offer."

Gotta go!

Hey guys, I have to get rid of this boat. I picked up the Grady and now I have 2 boats in the yard.

1700 bucks. The trailer is great I would pull it anywhere. The boat has a ton of extras. Even if you just want to strip it and use the parts on your v20 its more than worth the money.

im starting to get tempted...

are the merc still on it if so what year ?

hows the transom/stringer. any other bad spots in the floor?

The mercury is a 1996 200 carb powerhead on a 2001(i think, cant remember) midsection and lower unit.

The transom is damp, its not soft and it is about the same dampness that it was when I bought it.
As for the stringers I have no idea. They look the same as they always have and I don't drill into them so I don't know.

The floor is a little soft at the driver's feet, it has sunk a little where it connects to the bulkhead where it meets the cuddy, you can see the cracks in one of the pics in my thread.

I'm taking some pictures of the transom and inner stringer area on Sunday for another member. I'll post them in the thread.

New price.

1400 dollars. This is the special v20 forum price.

Please come get it!

I want to open up the yard for winter. Two boats is one too many.

Hey everyone, new to the forum. We are about to buy a 1980 V, can't wait to get it on the water! We'll be out of Charlestown, RI and she'll most likely be marked the "MaryHellen". Anyway, dbetterred would you be willing to part with only the front and side curtains? The boat comes with a bimini already, just looking for the curtains. If not, any suggestions on the best place to get some?

Welcome Swanny I am here in Ma. in Carver been fishing here 20+ years, v20 for 11 years then moved up to a 23 footer, now back to 86 v20 good luck with your search, i have the opsit problem, i have all the curtins with a ripped up bimi top

Joe,
How bad is your bimini top? Could it be repaired? Also what color is the top?

Swanny,
I'm going to make new front and side curtains for my V at some point this winter after I get everything winterized and do some work on my Bertram. At that point I will have the extra set of old curtains that are in tough shape. They might be good enough to use short term and keep water off the helm area. Not sure if they will work for you. If you can take a few photos of the zippers attached to your bimini top and get the photos to me. Not sure wellcraft used the same company and style bimini.

Inaforty, will do. I'll take some pics, they don't need to be great just enough to keep most of the wind and water out.

Here are the panels.
They need a good cleaning with 210 cleaner and then a quick polish of 210 spray protection.

The front panel is solid. When I made the replacement panels for my first V20 I made it so it could be opened up in the middle to access the hatch/bow.
Here is the front panel I made a few years back.

Unless I start parting out the boat (which I don't want to do) , I'm trying to keep it intact to help with the sale. I could easily get more than my asking price if I parted it out, but I don't have the time.

Thanks for the interest.

Blue Its pretty good but just the stiches in the seams, is torn in a small area, i don't care if its patched. I have to stay out the sun after trasnsplant cause of high skin cancer risk with antiamon drugs

Joe,
I don't have any blue sunbrella but I do have some red/cranberry. I do have black and blue thread.
After I get everything winterized and put away we can hook up and I will restitch your bimini for you if you would like that. Might take me a few weeks to complete.
