80's Chevy 6.2L Diesel - tow vehicle.

I;ve worked on some of the Volvo DPR/XDP ( D3,D4) packages and they are pretty slick, they even have programmable automatic trim, they are pricey though

The 6.2's are only loud if they're out of tune. Another reason to get the turbo is that it quiets things down and it decereases the amount of smoke.

P.E.N.I.S turns into thingy as part of the forum swear word controls.

Sorry spares.

Thanks guys for all the responses.

This is the link to the truck. Goes on sale tomorrow.

I have a good little truck now, but it sure would be nice to have my fuel bill cut in half . . . if it stays under $500 then I'll buy it . . . otherwise I'm gonna pass. It's a 1987 postal truck according to carfax.

Oh yeah . . . if you live in Northern FL or in GA . . . there are some real nice boat trailers for sale.

and don't search under boat . . . or you might find some whalers for sale too.

i used to drive on of those when I was stationed in florida. They are though. But the 24 volt system is something to keep in mind. Do you think that old diesel will really get 18 miles per gallon?

I see some decent stuff in my area how do you go about bidding. I would not bid much because military vechiles are used in great condition or they are junk there is not much in between.

thanks

There are video's on the site. There are two different types of auctions. The internet auctions . . . All you need is an account (which is free) and to bid with a CC. I'm pretty sure that's all. If you want to look at the items they have numbers/contacts listed for each lot. There are some real steals . . . I saw a forklift sell for $65 a few weeks ago. There were 2 - 250hp Fichts that sold too, but they sold for over $3000 each (out of my price range). To support what you are saying about the items being either in great shape or junk . . . I bought 3 Mercury outboards off a guy who's grandfather had a serious addiction buying from these auctions. He literally had 5 acres full of Trucks, equipment, tractors . . . anything you could imagine . . . all military surplus. I put as many motors into my little Comanche as I could fit and paid $700 for three motors. Two motors were essentially brand new. I parted out one and made my money back +$500 . . . . the 150hp is going on my red seacraft . . . and I'll have a spare 200hp in the garage.
