Need some input on useing this instead of Marine Tex in some locations. It's evervthing 5200 fast cure is except it's sandable and they do suggest useing the whole tube once opened.

Therm, it is good above and below the waterline but I'm primarily planing to use to fill holes from the cleats and bow rail supports that I have removed instead of mixing Marine Tex.
In my mind if it comes out the tube ready to use, does the same as 5200, is sandable and dries in 24hrs, it should work a lot easier.
 
It is a silicone though, and silicone will always be a pliable type of material like rubber. If your trying to fill voids, this isn't the stuff. You need some sort of marine-tex, formula 27, or even a good polyester filler will work. Or you can always break out the glass and resin ;D.
 
I have used it for fill and it is ok for a while but you will have to do it again! It will also turn yellow after a while.

Use marine tex for small voids, cause it is $$ For a big hole use some formula 27 and top off with marine tex.

For small screw hole's I use Golf Tees diped in some resin or 5200 and then hammer into the holes. when dry top off with a little marine tex and you good for ever!
 
do the same as you would 5200, first take a small dab on your finger and spread it in your hair( its going to get there sooner or later) them put some on the back side of your arm where you can't see it till you lean up against something.

I used 100% silicone to seal my gas tank hatch in the V's floor. Was that the right sealant to use or is 4200 better?

I seem to get fiberglass resin all over the place when i use the stuff. I find it on stuff that I was not even near when using it. Then ther is super glue which only seems to stick to my fingers.

I used the 3m silicone marine sealer (clear stuff) to temporarily seal my gas tank hatch in March. Last week I had to cut the seal with a knife to get the hatch loose, I'd hate to have had to rassle it loose from 4200.
