My mom gave a file folder on our 1980 V-20 this weekend. I thought people might appreciate what the Mercury Performance Bulletins say.

1979 SunHatch 196
1880 pounds
Merc V-175, aluminum 3 blade 13-3/4" x 21" pitch propeller
2555 pounds, 50mph @ 5500 rpm
2930 pounds, 48.5 mph @ 5400 rpm

1977 V-20
1900 pounds
Merc V-2000 ELPT, aluminum 14" x 19" pitch prop, 3 blade aluminum.
2540 pounds 51 mph @5200 rpm
2890 pounds, 49 mph @5000 rpm

I'll note that the provided numbers, that's a -0.8% prop slip for the V-20

Depending on how you want to figure it, a Crouch constant of either 181 for the full 200hp at the powerhead, or 203 if you discount 20% to measure horsepower at the prop. Which implies that if you go to a modern 200 hp, like I am, I should be able to get 56 or 57 mph with a 19 inch pitch prop. if the boat was brand new, which it isn't.
