1974 for $500

I have made the man an offer:happy:have not heard back yet. I am new to the forum and had talked to him last week. Will see!

Thanks for the offer. If I get it I will be buying a pig in a poke if you know what I mean. Don't relly mind that as I expect to rebuild completely probably getting rid of the cuddy and making an open bow out of it. Maybe even a center console. I know there may be some who do not like that idea, but I cannot find a cheap CC. I have rebuilt a 65 vette that had been total destroyed in a crash so I can do the FGlass work and I teach construction so I can handle the wood work. I am sure I will need some technical knowledge on other things though. The guy that owns it told me the Transom was gone and the floor possibly as well, but he said the hull was sollid and did not leak. I am taking him at his word.:deer:so if I get one of these looks when I start posting picks you know I need help.

Welcome to the site!
Look real hard at that boat before you cut the cuddy off of it. There is not that much gained room to utilize compared to the present setup it has.

I have a Starcraft Chieftain 18 w/1400 merc now with a cuddy. It is nice having the dry area but i like to take four fishing (three and myselfand I am tight on space now. it would give extra for the fourth man and fish three off the back. I love my old starcraft dad bought it new in 1977 and it has been shed kept all its life. seen a lot of hours on the bay around the third island. it does well but it is toooooo light in rough water, bounces around like a cork. still a nice unit and dependable. I am going to post a pick of it when i figure how in my signature line.

It will be fun to watch your conversion if you do it, but you will find that you can fish very comfortably from the front with the slide all the way forward, standing in the cabin, its my favorite place to stand when drifting and bottom fishing.

Here's my buddy fishing from there, as you can see, you can really get the big uns up there.
