$1000 V-20 in OC, MD

dibs I am calling him in the morning

thanks for the post I guess a mercury engine will have to work for now if he still has it and it not completely junk

Needs transom, The enclosure is new he say he paid $1400 for it and it has a 5 yr warranty. the boat is an 1984 and the motor needs controls. The guy was pretty honest about the boat. He is in Ocean Pines, MD.

called the guy this morning and the boat sounds like to much of a project for me.
transome work needed
soft spot in floor
no way to run the engine says it's been in front his house for 3 years on blocks
says the engine has a ton of hours. and when he was going to keep it he was planning on a repower
he just talked about how nice the enclosure was.
he had no way of getting it on a trailer even if I came with mine.

Skools pics are the way to go -
Get two jack stands and a 3 ton floor jack.
Lift the bow with floor jack, stablize the boat with jack stands prt and stbd. Winch boat onto trailer 6 inch at a time.
Go slowly, be cautious, and support and stabilze boat with jackstands - It is very easy.
If you really need a hand, live about 90 miles away - I drive down to OC and help you!

- Capt Bill

(and I have the two jack stands)

I am greatful for your offer but I just question weather the boat is worth it with all the work that it needs.

I really just question weather or not the outboard runs. He said that he removed the control box becuase the trim and tilt switch started acting up. But you figure if he wanted to sell the boat he would take the 15 mins to connect the old control box back up so that people could at list hear the outboard run.

Also OC is a big fishing town just like where I am. I know that I can get a Mercury control box for probably around $65 from the used boat part place. I think spending $65 dollars or so is well worth the investment for him so that he could sell the boat for what he wants for it.

Re: Loading a V-20

For $1000 what do you expect? The enclosure cost more than that. I definately wouldn't buy it thinking it's a turn key rig. There's plenty of V's out there that are for a few more grand that are.

This boat is for someone who wants a project boat OR someone that wants an almost new enclosure AND has the time to part it out.

Someone on here was looking for a windshield, don't know if they found one.

Isn't $1000 the asking price ??? No one pays asking price.
