Mine feels good at speed. Unless I'm trimmed to the max in a small chop. Then she gets a little loose feeling. But that is when it runs the fastest.

I had thought about doing some sort of spray rail too. But I was thinking about something maybe just below the rub rail. Or actually intigrate a spray rail and a rub rail together.

The Yamaha F350 can really suck down some fuel too. I ran a big Grady White with triples. At WOT it was pulling nearly 100gph between all three.

Hey Ozzie. By the looks of the cowling that motor looks like a late 90's motor. Definitly not a 2001. Nothing to worry about. I have a stash of some spare parts for that motor if you need anything let me know.

The platinum plugs originally used for the Optimax were very expensive. Now they use an iridium plug that is cheaper and back fits all Opti's.

There is an inline oil filter before the oil tank on the motor. also two comming off the compressor. At least my motor has them,not sure about the xs. My motor also has an air filter for the compressor. How old are the plugs? Everything else has already been mentioned.

I have a 225 Optimax on my V. Right now I'm running a Merc Revolution 4 prop with 19" pitch. My top end is 53mph occasionally hitting the rev limiter. But the cruise is perfect. 30kts at 4000 rpms and getting 3.5mpg.

I'm supposed to be towing that weekend. I can try to get off. The following weekend would be better for me.

I used the Keyport ramp about a month ago. It was low tide. There is no water there at low tide. But other than that it seemed ok. Parking looked a little lacking. But I didn't have to park because I just had to launch and leave.

At my marina right now we have a Yamaha F250 and a Z300 blown. Between that and the F200-225 corrosion problems( I did 2 last week) I don't know why people feel like they HAVE to have one. All I can say is I love my Optimax.

I don't care about thread hijacking. Texas, we got to catch up some time. After I get a few stripers in the boat it will be time for Tice's. Anyway. I tested the 21 Tempest and Mirage. I picked up about 2-3 kts but nothing earth shattering. The Tempest got me to 48.1 kts and the Mirage was 47.5...

That's funny because I saw you on the jet ski and thought "that dude is crazy to be out on a jet ski when it's this cold out". I just sold the motor on Ebay to some guy in Illinois. It's on a pallet awaiting shipment.
