Leveled the old firehouse that was concrete block. Went through the restaurant and general store. The former rebuilt and reopened.

Phat It was all storm surge. Wind driven water 9’ above what would be a normal tide level. Most stilt homes were ok in Suwannee. Just up the coast the residents were not as lucky. Wind and water toppled some stilt homes and eroded foundations.

    Speckled Trout & Mullet

OMG - THE MULLET RUN - if I recall correctly we are in the same latitude Phat. In my 45 years of fishing the big bend I have never seen such a run of mullet. The canals were absolutely stacked with them. For the first time I saw snook and tarpon in the canal in back of the house. They...

    Raising Transom

The stringers are actually cut down at an angle as they near the transom so the splashwell that is also angled down kinda lays on top of those stringers. Definitely post some pictures. I wrote all that, not sure the year, this is true of 80’s models in any case

    Outboard horsepower

I do agree that some overpowering makes boating dicey. Some hulls don’t react as well as others to major hp

    Outboard horsepower

Ok not the same, but look, the gun doesn’t kill people by itself. A little self control goes a long ways. They sell cars that go three times the legal posted speed, it’s a risk. I’ll leave it there

800 hp on 21’ boat. Just about right😂

F the insurance companies and the govt too. The water is the last place we have no speed regulations, I’m all for keeping it that way. Boating has some inherent risk, that’s a given. Manufacturers put the plate on the boat so they can sell them to the public and qualifies them to receive some...

I got PTSD from all this. Looking back it was a lot of work. For every problem a solution.

Staples rusted on that wire next door. Would have never rusted if the floods had not happened. Moving the 9x18 shed by myself was a hoot. Electric underground, well it was, kept the shed from moving off-site.

True, so true. I paid $16.96/ea for 1x6x8 pine. It wasn’t #2, it was a select grade from Home Depot. Ouch!!! But it was beautiful.. I tried to build back as if I were building a house not a trailer. No melamine board, pressed wood or anything that will fall apart when and if it ever floods...

    Ok I’m done now.

I’ve had disdain for many a politician over the years. That’s a fact. Not many Republicans to be honest. I like less govt. This don’t feel like less government. MAGA seems to give him a pass. Teflon Don is a worldwide embarrassment, it’s very difficult for me to give any honor to the...

    MAGA wants people starving.

So Chuck sent his DoJ to the Supreme Court to block funding? I’m confused. Hey we can agree to disagree. Congress passed a bill creating an account specifically designated to fund SNAP in the event the Government shut down. Trump went the extra mile to attempt to stop the funding,

Diesel is just supply and demand. Kerosene same thing. Airplane travel, think about how much an aircraft will burn on a single flight. Everything we consume comes to us using low grade fuel.

What to do when the water is turned off?

Furthermore, to really do it right would take more water than I’d want to carry. There must be a hose nearby. I like to run it so long the thermostats definitely open and temp builds throughout. My .02👍

What to do when the water is turned off?

May have to rig something up to flush that motor. I’ve gotten more accustomed to working without power and thus have had to improvise. I’m damn lucky to have fresh water to run thru on my way back to home base. It’s brackish where I’m at. To me it is extremely important. Done every single...

Pipe, much respect to you kind sir. The president said I was anti-American. Have you heard him speak? Almost no complete sentences but the big bully said so. On the Fourth of July for that matter.
