It’s been 10 years since i worked on my 150 2S, but that was a pretty easy one to service. I always knew mine was getting weak when while trolling the motor would start dying out. I would have to go back and give it a few pumps on the primer ball. Hope this cures your problem.

U sure it has a butterfly choke or an enricher? My 84 150 was tricky to start. U raising the throttle advance bout half way? With the enricher, I had to push the key in about 3 times while cranking cold and throttle advanced about half way U ever checked compression or looked at the reeds?

Is the steering cable still in the tube? Can u hold the starboard side with a crescent wrench while turning the port side. I have never had to take one off, just wondering out loud, Maybe apply little heat and impact gun
