    Carolina Skiff 238 Semi V

Sold her today for asking price. Was surprized, I got above average retail. For the most part, she served me well.

I use a 182C with a chip and I'm really happy with it. I just installed it on my new boat (took it off my skiff). Their factory support is hard to beat.

    Carolina Skiff 238 Semi V

Been good so far. Today I struggled in dirty water with first time scallopers, but they were happy. Numbers still okay, however we now have to hunt harder for the bigger ones. Willie, I'll probably give you a call tomorrow. Got your number in front of my computer. Take care guys.

    Carolina Skiff 238 Semi V

Bought a 23SE Parker. Got tired running in 3' seas in a skiff. I enjoy my CS, however I won't have to worry about seas and wind in the new one. It's a 2004 package and it's pretty stout and only drafts 10". I'm still using the skiff till scallop season is over (Sept. 10th) then the Parker...

    1986 185 Evinrude update

I had a 1986 185 on my 86 v-20. Same badging and cowling as a 150. Standard parts. They did build a 155 hp commercial engine.

    185 HP Evinrude

I owned a 86 185, however mine had the standard 185 cowling with no mention of it being a commercial outboard. It was the same color as as their typical outboard. Was a 175 offered in 86?? I do know they built a 155 commercial engine.

    Bottom Paint

In Florida I use Pettit Trinidad SR (slime resistant), 70% cuprous oxide. $249.00 gallon. Two coats of primer and two coats of bottom paint. Warmer water really brings out the barnacles. I really don't think it's as much the cost of the paint, but how well it's prepped and applied. My...

    THANK YOU Spareparts!!

Cold and windy today. It's been in the low to mid twenties at night for the last 2 1/2 weeks. Today, it's warmed up to 46 with 20 kt winds. Nice day to stay in the house. Come on down and visit in the spring. We'll wet a line.

    THANK YOU Spareparts!!

Not to throw fecal matter in the punch bowl, but why not sell the Reel w/ Honda, sell the Johnson and buy a 25" motor for the new boat. Doesn't have to be new. In 2006 I installed a year 2001, 150 Merc on my V for $4200. The motor had 125 hrs on it with 135 psi compression on all cylinders...
