Not really a V20.  The shape is the same, but the construction is entirely different.

need i/o v-8 engine compartment  pictures

Re: need i/o v-8 engine compartment  pictures Well, this isn't a V20, but I think the V20's were made from the same mold.  The hull construction is different, there are no stringers except to support the deck so blocks were added to bolt the motor to.  The picture was taken to show off some new...

How do you fix hairline cracks in gelcoat

You might want to investigate what is causing the flexing that is causing those cracks.

    Calling all Merc Mechanics

The water coming out of the pissers should be warm, this means it has picked up heat within the engine and carried it out.  If it's hot, that means the water is spending too much time in the engine/there isn't enough flow.  This is a sign of a bad water pump.  If the water is cool, but the...

    Calling all Merc Mechanics

If it were a thermostat problem, the water would be coming out cold because none would be circulating through the engine block and picking up heat. If the water is coming out hot, it is a insufficient flow problem. Check your water pump(s).

    Craziest Boaters in the WORLD!

I saw something about qualifying as for coxswain in one of those back when the CG used to use them. The coxswain had to roll the boat 360 degrees without getting wet. It was like running on top of a log.

You ground the crown off the weld? That is where the strength is.

Transoms outer skin has been removed

Plywood holds screws better and is stronger than any composites, don't let anybody tell you it's a bad choice. Also, composites are also subject to the same delamination damage due to water intrustion just like woods are.

    Crossflow vs. Looper

The 205 psi is in my 1987 CR 250 dirt bike, but it is a looper so I thought I would throw it in here.

    Crossflow vs. Looper

My 1cyl. looper makes 205 psi! Premium gas only for me.

    Crossflow vs. Looper

Low compression heads...  Using a low compression head reduces the fuel octane requirements of the motor. It also reduces fuel economy and horsepower. I believe the compression ratio for a 2-stroke is actually the dynamic compression ratio.  A static compression ratio is the volume of the...

    Racor fuel filter/water separator

Just remember that plastic bowls permeate gasoline vapors and should not be placed in areas where gas vapors can accumulate.  The Coast Guard really frowns on this. There is no need to filter below 10 microns for gas engines. Gas injectors and pumps are significantly less... precise than their...

    Bow/Keel Repair

That's pretty minor there. Just grind back about 3 inches on either side, not very deep. Smooth out the damaged area, but try not to cut deep. It doesn't need to be very smooth, just so you don't get air pockets under your cloth. I would put one layer of matt that covers the entire area and then...

    Bad voltage regulator?

Does your alternator have 1 wire or 3 wires to it? If it's a 3 wire, you need to find which one is for excitation voltage. Hook a volt meter up to the main outlet wire and start the engine. Connect 12volts from the battery to the excitation lead and if your voltage jumps to 14-18v+, your voltage...

    New Tow Truck?

Even if the refineries were completely retooled to make #2, I don't think they could approach the amount of gasoline produced from a barrel of crude. I do believe some refineries that specifically make gasoline can make nearly 35 gallons starting with 42.

    Trailer Mods

I'm glad to see someone here likes anti-seize as much as I do. I used it on EVERYTHING. My projects usually go very smoothly as a result, no stuck bolts.
