I wish it was 8 weeks but more realistic it is 12 weeks.
except for a 2 winter flounder limit beginning in March, there ain't nothing to catch til mid May stripers arrive in numbers.
Water temp at Ambrose buoy is 36 degrees.
I'm just looking forward to some warm weather to get the boat ready
Well, there were ice boats sailing out on the Toms River and Barnegat Bay today. It is a rare winter where that happens...if that gives you any idea of how cold it has been. Usually they are up in the mountain lakes not on salt bays.
weird how they show up to the west first. ( i guess your talking about ling or cobia) i have always heard they migrate up from south fl. to us seems like mobile, pcola, and destin get a visit before we do.
third foggy day produced this little guy. water still dirty and temp @ 60*. this was the only thing we caught in 2 .5 hours of trolling. depending how cold this next front is, still got a couple of weeks to go
good to know these little scouts are here, also, i made sure the new motor was in the pic, don't want u guys to think i was salting the mine with last years pics
