I went to my family's place in Sneeds Ferry thei past weekend, its been year since I've been there. My family hasn't used it much since my mother's failing heath. Since her passing, my father intends to start using it more. I met my father, my sister and a friend of hers at teh house to do a general clean up and inventory of the place. It brought back a bunch of memories.

My father bought the lot in '58(I think), he borrowed money on his Chevy station wagon to buy it. Later on(64?), he bought the house for $800, and it took $200 to have it moved and set up. It was an old Fort Davis Military house. Its survived at least 5 hurricanes, numerous storms and floods. I spent the majority of my childhood every weekend at this place. Swimming, boating, sailing, kayaking, fishing, clamming, shrimping,...etc. I realized its been at least 6 years since I was there, and its been since 96 that I was there with my family. I've got to start going back there and enjoying it. Its about four hours from Charleston. I took a trailer up there and put his well boat on it, We discovered the floor was gone in it so I brought it back to have it repaired
(Space for picture later)
On the way back, Kendall and I stopped by the USS North Carolina and did the tour. One of my favorite places to go when I was a kid. Kendall took a little while before she started liking it, but grew to enjoy the ship
