I took Kalum to my grandparents Blueberry patch yesterday. We dodged the rain for two hours but worth it:drool::drool::drool:

In the Jersey Pine Barrens that is how they grow too, though they are a little smaller and I never found a patch like that, beautiful.

Is it getting cool there already?

Yes the leaves are turning to fall colours and we are starting to get frost warnings over night. :cen:!!! We had another terable summer here there to short and the last 3 years it has rained most of the summer:cen::cen::cen::cen:!!!!!

It has been a few years that they have been like this it only took 2 hours to fill a 5 Gal pail full. Do you get huckleberrys there?

Man, I haven't been blueberry picking in decades! I know a great old berry farm that went back to wild. Used to get a 5 gal bucket there & mom would make blueberry/apple pies(way better than just blueberry pie!).

When I lived in Toms River (NJ) I used to work in Lakehurst near the Navel Air station. (Where the Hindenberg went down) Most any afternoon you could find us (factory personel) walking along the roads in that area picking wild blueberries. Like Willy said, they are not quite as big as the ones you show in your picks, but getting a quart or two on lunch break wasn't all that hard.

Great pics of you and Kalum. Treasure that time together, cause they are only that age once and then they're grown up overnight.
