Nice boat! Thats a lot of hp on the back. I have the 248 sportsman which is only rated for twin 150's. Are you sure thats not too much hp?

i've seen several 250's with twin 225's it had twin 200's but lost a powerhead so i bought it and repowered with these twins i had laying around. is yours a open transom or solid transom? mine was originally a twin OMC Sea-Drive Boat. which was tons heavier than these are.

If it was mine I would hang them 140's you got on it. I've driven an 84 248 with twin 225's and was pretty disapointed with it myself. It was VERY stern heavy and took ALOT of power to hold it on plane. And she was a stern heavy big at anchor. Top end was 53 MPH which isn't much faster than a single 225 can push one either.

Let us know how it runs out. I love the 225's. That bracket looks like it would give you a lot of floatation down low unlike the Seadrives. Thumbs up for another bracket boat with a lot of hp.

well those twin 140's are in need of a full rubuild the 225's weren't.

they turn over but worn out both have over 2500 hrs and they are in the low 90's to upper 80's on compression so they need a rebuild.
