YouTube - becareful who's filming.

if i understood the audio, the capt is in his 70's. the way he was jumping up & down off the bow of that boat, i'm not gonna be the one to tell him how to load his boat.

What a dangerous move period ..Wow I always float my Boat on and off ..Never comprehend this method and will never do it..
When I Boat its myself, two Kid's one 14 one 12, no room for mistake's or senseless moves ...I can't afford a stunt like this ..Few years ago maybe :)

ny i have a bunk trailer and on a short ramp or low tide, that's the way its done.
bs, probably due to silt being spread to surrounding sea grass, i agree with spare, thats what keeps some old ramps open..

That is exactly how I get my boat up on the trailer. However, after I power up a bit, I do not leave it in gear like he did. The jump off the bow, onto the winch post and down on to the tongue of the trailer is what I do. But I do it without even getting in the water. I just stand on the tongue, winch her up, then I can step to the bumper of my suburban, shift over to the driver's side on the bumper, swing my left leg onto the rear tire (all the while holding on to the luggage rack) and I am done. I will not do this when it is warm and I am barefoot or with flip flops, but it works well when I have shoes on and it is cold outside.

that's the way we all load them on all ramps i use, if you do like NY and float on they will cuss you and say hurry up get out of the way that's why it has a motor lol. V20's are not to big nor heavy for this issue but the large 32 up cc boats with the triples on the back usually the truck needs help from the boat to get them out of the water, i've seen many people push the truck and all up a wet ramp to get them out then shut it down as soon as the boats going up the ramp.

My procedure is just a slightly more gentle version....I just idle on and I do leave it in gear at idle or it will float back down when I jump over the bow rail to attach the hook....

That's the ramp I use all summer!

Its a nice new ramp, I drive on and kenny pulls the boat up with truck. Quick and easy!!

i have yet to see a boats prop wash to even come close to matching the power of tide and current

it might make a differnce on a lake, but around here, thats:bsflag:

I use ramps on a regular basis(couple of times a week), just out of habit(looking for fish) I watch the depth finder while meandering close to the ramp, I'm suprised how many deep holes I find near ramps, with gradual rises back to the "regular depth" as I get further from the ramps

Sorry Guys I did not explained myself correctly, I do drive or idle the Boat on to the trailer, I do not power it up on the Trailer as shown in the video, since the trailer is completely submerge and is just right for the Boat so floats right on, then I just snug it up using the winch. When I am alone with the Kids I float it on no choice :)
