Well I have wanted to build since last year and I am now in motion!!

A couple of weeks ago my son and I dug a 100' x 4' deep hole in the yard by hand!! :bat: This runs the water and power under ground to the shed.
4' is necessary to keep the water from freezing here in the NE.

we then built the floor with some help of friends, wow was that a bit ch getting level and square!!!

Then the last 2 days to get all framed, now if I just can figure out the roof?? I want to make it a Gambrel so I have a 2nd floor  when I am done this thing will be same sq feet as my house!! CB says its to big, I say the bigger the better!

Here are some pic's

Has a 36" door on the right, and a 6' door on the front with two windows I am going to add another window on the 36" door side then a few on 2nd floor.

MJ it looks really nice but there are two things I would like to point out,

1) a straight trench uses less pipe and cable.

2) How come we only see others doing the work?

Good luck on your project.

Turbo

shoulda called, i got a ditch witch that would have knocked that out in 15 or 20 minutes.
i charge by the hour, but the mobilization would have been a bear(round trip fl to mass) looks good. i do not have a garage now and i miss it baddddddd.

1. My son has no seance of direction!! But the hole was wide enough that the pipe went straight.

2. Cause I not stupid!! :hide:

looks good mj, if I were closer i'd be all over that... for a free fishing trip that is.....haha , what kinda siding are you useing ? do yu have a coastal wind rating to deal with ?

If it'll w/stand all the phartin' that'll go on in that thing, it'll take anything the wind can throw at it!!...

It be destroyed for sure here!!

No work today, My truck had a front wheel berrin go today :cen: garage wanted $500, my son and i did it for $125 :sun:

WOW, really impressed MJ. Thats no shed, Thats an MJ garage for sure. Looking good.
What size ceiling rafters you going with ? I went with 2x12, but think that was over kill. Wish I would have gone with a 2x10 and save some cash.

My cousin came over today and wired up my garage. All I did was really watch, since I know crap about electriacl.

my only question is why you used those pre-fab deck supports and did not pour concrete footers? seems like you are going to have trouble down the road if one or two of those concrete holsters sinks in a hard rain....

Nice work MJ. All this garage talk is getting me inspired. I have a few too many balls in the air right now. Hopefully sooner than later I will embark on a quest to build the Blue Runner man cave LOL.

Thanks all.
CY the town will not allow any footings unless i was making it a permanent building then there is a whole host of things that had to be done ands lots more money to spend because of them!!
This way I call it a shed and i have no inspections or any other bull crap. All sand here and water does not sit on the ground, so mud not a bad thing here.
All I can do is build and see what happens over time?? Good practice for the next one, I have never built anything like this in my life!
:zip:

I hear ya....still probably could have poured some concrete and set the blocks on the concrete....would have been easier to level.....:head:

Whats level mean??

Thats my uncles girl friend, she is 52 and has a ton of energy!! We showed her how to use the gun and she stole it!! Dam women always taking the power tools:nice:
