How'd he put 500 hours on a boat that ain't got a wheel??...:head:...must bought the motor w/the time already on it...

What a purdy thang...

thats a rebuild, not a new boat, says its a 79. I really like the Ricky's. That 555 Cummins is going to kill him on resale. there are a lot of big projects that are up for sale. I looked at a 31 Bertram yesterday that the bank repoed. The outside is done(fresh awlgrip), the inside, wiring and rigging need to be finished, btw, its a twin big block gas boat. The bank has 50 out on it, they will be lucky to get half that

youre right i dont know where these guys get their asking prices. thisis apples to oranges, but a 31 contender 10 years old or so with twins sells for under or at 50k.

It's not just the gas boats either, the big diesels are way down too. I saw a twin diesel Bertram re-done nice with low hours go for 38g's.
Oh to be cash rich this summer, my Lord. If they don't sell it now by June these guys will be dumping them even more on the market.
Big twin outboard premium CC;s and WA's are selling for less than half of where they were a year ago.

i see the deals all over, they have this 2750 HS, that was orig listed at 25k-30K that has gradually settled itself to at 15k, if it goes any lower i might have to take out a loan.

I found a rack storage marina last week, it is closer to me right on Raritan Bay where I fish, where I was was charging 3200 for the season, this one is charging me 2100. The fellow who runs there forklift has a beautiful old 30 footer convertible, he docks it at the marina for the summer, basically lives on it and uses it as a summer home. He says even with his gas motors he goes out and fishes just about everyday in the bay, he says if you are not up on cruise all the time it does not use much gas.
I would love to do something like that, prices keep falling I just might have to.

when i was a kid i basically lived on grand isle and spent most of the time on the water, those were the days. there really is nothing like living on a boat, houseboat. i decided that the next boat i buy will at least be 30feet LOA. it might take me 10 years to afford to operate one.

hate to tell ya a Contender ain't chit to a Ricky you can't compare any twin 30ft outboard boat to the old Ricky's
