Last Friday the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a peace agreement at the White House, ending nearly four decades of conflict. Nikol Pashinyan, the Armenian prime minister, and Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s long-time president, said Mr Trump’s mediation should earn him a Nobel Peace Prize.
Mr Aliyev offered to send a joint appeal, along with Mr Pashinyan, to the Nobel committee recommending the American president receive the peace prize. “Who, if not President Trump, deserves a Nobel Peace Prize?” he asked.
