Where to mount my depth finder

Right now I have my depth finder and my GPS mounted in front of the drivers side window. I only have about 35% of the window to look out of. I keep thinking of putting it either on the slide for the cuddy or on the passenger's side facing me. This is for my 1991 Cuddy.

What I would really like is some kind of a quick disconnect on the cuddy slide that wouldn't hinder opening of the slide when the machine is not in place. A fixed place is always great but these boats don't have any dash area.

I'm open to all suggestions, Wellcraft didn't think about electronics when they designed the boat.

I have a '77 V-20 cuddy and mine is mounted to left side of the steering wheel. You are correct, there isn't alot of room to mount a unit. I know I have to look down at an angle to view mine, especially when its in split screen mode. Before you drill any hole, check with Bass Pro Shops....there is a flyer I got in the mail this past week featuring Lowrance (Mine) and Hummingbird models...they also showed ads for mounting posts -being able to re-locate your unit instead of the usual mounting spots. I know I'm moving mine once I get my mechanics straight.
Check with them on-line as:sun: well as Cabella's and Gander Mountain before you drill & mount for a spot you don't really want

There were a couple of manufacturers that had a flush or semi-flush mounting capability instead of the pedestal type.
See if yours has this option and if you have the room for it to mount flat.

I've got my Garmin 162 mounted on the drivers side of my '91 and my Furuno FCV667 mounted in front of the passenger facing the driver. Not the perfect setup, but it works.

I like to mount them into the dash...makes 'em hard to remove so peeps don't take time to steal 'em...

And I can't imagine pushin' away w/out one, so why not have it there all the time??...

This was the old mount in the 74...

That's what I was thinking of doing until I set it over there, then I didn't like it.

I don't have room to flush mount mine in 91 they put a speedometer, tach, fuel gauge, oil pressure, volt meter, temp and then all the switches for bilge pumps etc.

Johnny mounts or Ram mounts maybe the way to go mounting the base on the passenger's side and then swing it over the cuddy slide.

Here's mine. I got the Garmin used w/ no mounting bracket and was able to buy the dash mount for about $40 online.

Nice looking all of them. This is something I should have done in March instead of trying to do now at the start of May which is fishing time.
