lol. True. Voltage regulator and is over $200.00 if you can find one for a 1988 150 mercury. Rectifier. $20.00

A regulator keeps the voltage at a constant output level despite fluctuations on the input side.
A rectifier converts AC voltage to DC.

As far as cost, when it goes on a BOAT, well, you know the rest.

Did you try a site called Replacement Parts?…can’t say for sure, but I’ve been amazed at some of the pars from outboards to oven parts
