well just got back from seeing that v20 i have been waiting to see for weeks i think its spent 22 years mored
everything needs work or replaceing all the plastics r cracked or broken
trailer has more rust than the titanic
the engine would start cause his friend played around with the timing finally move the dizzy to get it started to a big cloud of blue smoke the engine idled good but anything over idle it would vibrate its head of
the controll were all loose he said theres a pin missing
all the motor had bad rust on it even the power steering was too
the 2 inpection holes were the fuel tank is had like sandy mud in then the springs on the trailer looked like they were reday to snap
trim was good winch was just as bad
the boat wasnt even sitting or rest on the keel roolers just had skids with carpet
no lids on the bait boards only one insert

i can go on for even why would u put a boat for sale in that condition and ask good money this guy is going to loose big time on this boat

well i really like the look of the boat and r going to look into importing one stay tuned
:fight:

Glad for you...you dodged a bullet for sure...

I recently bought a boat like that, I only paid around $400 US. That guy is insane if he thinks he is going to get out from under that boat, I know he wouldn't be listing it for that much unless he had to get his money back out of it. With everything you said is wrong with that boat it sounds like the only money put into it was what HE paid for it outright. Lucky you looked it over beforehand!

by the way he said it was a 165hp it had a engine oil cooler on it and a alternator did not say 165 on valve cover 2bbl carb too

aussie, g,day....you'll find the right boat in due time, just may have to come by way of the good ol USA. I've got a question, where is Rockbank? I was "walkabout" in Oz a few years back....got around to some cool towns and other smaller cities. Mostly up and down your east coast....best trip I ever had..... and you blokes know how to have a good time!

165 hp 3.7 would have said 3.7L on valve cover or flame arrestor cover. 3.7LX would have been 180 hp 4 bbl version
well it had a 2 barrel on it as i had to mess with it to get it started thats why i was wondering why it had oil cooler

he sold it for 7500 in that condition u r all saying i will get a cheaper and better one

I would say yes....After Australia, California is 2nd in high prices on boats. these boats were made in FL on the east coast US....they are much more common and therefore cheaper on the east coast as compared to the West Coast.....I would guess shipping from California would be cheaper though.

that was probably the power steering cooler you saw, was it vertically mounted on the rear port side? The engine oil coller is made into the bottom of the intake manifold on the 4bbl engines, it has external hoses that goo to where hte oil filter is mounted. There may have been some 2 bbl versions with oil coolers, but I've never seen one.

Agreed...and consider you are already planning to rebuild the motor...search for an I/O with a blown motor which will reduce the price considerably..if shipping charges are determined by weight, you might even look for one with no motor at all...there may be more V-20s in Aussie-Land than you suspect...search Google, Craigs List, E-Bay and others...take your time and get a good one...

I don't know the boat, but Dev has one in Boats For sale section right now for a good price...
