no you dont need two of them. and yes it does plane off. with two people about 550lbs combined weight 40 gals fuel all your basic gear anchor ropes bumpers cooler beer ice ect. with a 13by15 prop planes off about 2800 nice cruise at 3800 wot 5100 willthis go up after break in? will have gps #soon my guess 28 to 30 quiet and seem to be easy on fuel sweet trolling motor so far pretty good first shark trip aug 12

 That is good news indeed. Congrats.. The lower pitch prop really did the trick. Be nice on break in and motor may go up a little in RPM if it is really tight, but I doubt it will go up more than a hundred RPM or so. Does the Yamaha have tilt and trim and are you trying for WOT with the motor trimmed up? It doesn't sound too bad at if it planes off at 2800. I like that engine, it is light for the hp. Very nice, keep us posted..

That is great that it is working for you. What is the max recommended rpm for that motor?

If its 5500 or so, you may have to drop back one more on the prop pitch to get there.

Most 2 strokes like RPM and won't last if lugged. Check the mfr's recommended RPM range, shouldn't drop below the bottom end of the RPM range with a full load. Sounds like this might be an economical boat. I've rode in a V20 with a Johnson 85 hp V4 engine, planed off nicely and ran 28 mph.

90hp gps speeds ect.

4000rpm. 20 mph . 5100rpm 30 mph 4people on board coolers beach chairs ect. 30 gals fuel they say max wot 4500 to 5500 currently running the smallest prop yamaha makes for that eng. 13 by 15 run it between 3800 and 4000 fuel burn seems to be 3 to4 gals per hr at rest with full fuel rear chines are 2 inchis out of the water too much stuff in cuddy wont drain. ran it through sebastian inlet when i should not have did well i think ill keep it

Sebastian can be downright menacing at times. I think you have a winner there. Keep her and maybe shift some weight around to get the stern back in the water. OR I can go along, ballast is my specialty.
