I was going thru the historical pictures and came across a photo in the 73 cataloge with a V-20 CC and a V-17 CC together I was not even aware Wellcraft made smaller version of the V-20 Has anybody ever seen one? It be a great boat for the smaller lakes here...Ted
they have a few V17's here in south Louisiana they have one down the street in the marina I live in that's for sale it would be a good project boat it floated off of it's trailer during hurricane Rita's tidal surge well 1/2 off any way it's sitting on it's side on it's trailer I know the motor got wet and is frozen I'll get a pic of it in a day are two if any one would like to see it
There are a few around here . The 17' has a steplift hull where the later 18' used a different design . I had a friend growing up that had one . It was a great little boat . I do remember that his with a 90hp was slow to plane .
Wait, before I'm too confused here. Your all saying that the v-20 came in a 17ft size ???????
THAT WOULD BE A COOL LITTLE BOAT !!!
SOMEBODY SEND PICS !!
Here are a couple of pictures of my 1975 V-17 CC showing the front and rear view. It is the 2nd V-17 I've owned. The bow flair picture (love that bow flair) was my 1st V-17, a 1973 model - it needed a little front end work on the hull. I ended up giving it to my son in Oklahoma City when I found the 1975 model. The picture of the boat tied to the dock is not mine.
In the rear view picture of the 1975 you can see my 1977 V-20 Center Console project off to the right.
My buddy has one in his shop right now he’s rebuilding. He’s replaced all the floor and gunnel wood with 1/2 marine grade and I think he plans on only putting a side console in it so it should be rather light and fast. Knowing him it’ll have at least a 200 on it.
