UH oh!!! resin help!!!

Layed a piece of 18 ounce on the inside of my outer skin today at 4:00 pm. Mixed resin and hardener as specified 1 tsp. for 1 quart in 70 degree temp(I put 5 more drops in because it was 62 degrees outside). It is now 6:50 annd the temp is dropping and the resin I applied to the 18 ounce is still wet to the touch but the pot i mixed in with minimum amout of resin is gelled up. will the resin i applied to my nnew skin set up with the temp dropping?

If the correct amount of hardener was used and it was thoroughly mixed it will cure. Mixing thoroughly is VERY important. Check it tomorrow when the temps rise.

Kracker, me n you slidin' around the fiberglass learnin' curve at the same time!!...I threw out so much stuff that kicked before I could use it it made me sick!!...you got the opposite happenin'!!...as little as I know, I pretty sure it'll set up over night tonite...sit it out in the sun tomorrow (is it on trailer?) ...like Curapa said...hope ya mixed it thoroughly...

It'll probably be alright. The work surface temperature is what's kicking your butt.
I've set some stuff knowing the temps weren't best by using heat lamps to get the work area close to a good temp ahead of time.
It'll set, be patient. Don't rush it by heating the area now, might bust it if overdone.

I mixed it up good. I hope it sets, it should. I cut both of my transom core pieces today so im gonna be installing them on Friday. My cloth and resin hook up backed out on me so I had to go with a local distributor. A guy on The hull Truth recommended me to use Eastern Burlap here in Norfolk Virginia what a group of awesome guys over there and they have awesome prices. Yea REEL its on a trailer and I have put it out in the yard to get the UV'S on it tomorrow.

rig up a cover over the area, put a reflector type lamp with a 100 watt bulb, that should keep it warm, keep the moisture out of it and help it kick, I've used a hair dyer(not a heat gun) to help it kick on cold days, just wave it back and forth to warm it up evenly
