Trailer and Boat weight ?

Looked at two used trailers the other day, both were junk !!. So whats the true weight of a 1986 V-20 ???
I looked at two new trailers. One trailer that will hold the weights of 2450lbs for $1400.00 and a 2850 lb. trailer for $1700.00. Now the price does not enclude the extra $200.00 in bull$hit paperwork and transfer crap.
Will I be going to light if I went with the 2450 pound trailer ??
Do trailer titles show the gross weight on them ? Wanna make sure this guy doesnt ripp me off.

Better figure on 4500 lbs. How often are you going to trailer and how far? I may have a deal for you if you can wait a week or so on a single axle? I've got to put in a new rear crossmember this week and then its going to be sold for $500. It's got springs and tires set up to carry the weight.

Hammer, my hull is an '86 and I recall hull only spect. out at 1960lbs. My v6,150 Oceanrunner Johnson is 375 lbs. so I'm at 2335lbs. just hull and outboard, now just add fuel 60 gal. at 7lbs. per gallon theres another 420lbs. or 2755. Now add the beer, rods and tackle/ dive gear, anchors, ropes, food, oil, bug spray,etc.etc. you' well over 2800lbs. Look in the links section, some recent posts of bran new trailers for in and around 1800.00

Airslot is almost on the mark!! Don't forget that your total rig weight also includes the trailer which is over 1000 also!!

Mine tipped the scales at 4600 lbs gross, on trailer and w/full fuel...don't scrimp on the trailer...get the best deal you can find, new or used, but on a trailer that'll stand up to the job...these are heavy 20'ers ;)... 8)...

Hammer, I've got a clear title for mine. I just removed the rear crossmemeber this morning, it was badly rusted in the center. I'm ordering the new one tommorrow, should have it this week. I'll see if I can get some pics this afternoon.
