Tim Tab extensions........

Wondering if I can add extensions to my tabs so I can dig the bow down even further if and when I really want to plow through chop........

The Bennett tabs are nice and pretty as is, so I wouldn't want to screw them up, but wondering if a nice clean job with same metal, drilled and bolted would be effective.

Interesting that when I had the 150hp on the V, the tabs pushed the bow down further than after the 200 HO rigged.....

Rides real nice now, tabs work as needed, just thinking If I want to have more tab power than I need, this might work.

Think I'll call Bennett and see what they think.....that's Bennett Trim Tab Co., not call myself now......
 
They make tabs in various sizes , both in width and in length. Should be able to buy a longer tab from Bennett if you really want it.

I'd guess that the 200, having more power, would be able to overpower the tabs more than the 150, so the 150 would have dug the bow in more simply because it didn't have as much power. Another guess would be that if you went the same speed with both engines, you'd find that the tabs would work about the same. Again, just guesses.. but it seems logical.
 
Probably because of the extra weight the 200 carries. Call Bennett, they are a wonderful company to deal with and NEVER try to rip you off.
 
Yeh with the 150 it was like a .....submarine riding on the surface when full tabs down...

That bow would dig, it was fun...not practical in taller steep whitecapped waves because I'd get some water over the bow at times, but lots of tab range.

Now with the 200 it's fine, but wouldn't mind even a little more dig when I want it.

I thought about trying the down fin kits that Bennett offers. Supposed to channel the water and make them more efficient. My tabs are plenty efficient at 12"x12" but down fins might also help with low speed bow wonder which sucks as I am I/O.
