Ok I’m going thru my fishing tackle. Cleaning and oiling. Reel oil. $5.00 for 1 oz. OR light machine oil at Walmart. 4oz for $5.00.
Just as good. Or better yet. Just passing this along.
 
You nailed it. I use to work for nestles and there tasters choice coffee and ShopRite freeze dry coffee was EXACTLY THE SAME how do I know that? I seen it all on the same line. Same coffee. Same jar just a different label. But tasters choice coffee was much more money.
 
I have used light machine oil and dedicated reel oil on reel bearings and my reels have never complained about the difference. I also use a light coating of marine grease on the gears and internal metal parts. Good idea to periodically open reels up and inspect for corrosion.
 
I would try the cheaper stuff. But I have shopped at Walmart about 4 times in the past 6 years. I hate that place. It is fun to watch the people there. Taking certain ammo and guns off the shelf and donating to blm or the blue hairs. I don't need anything there.
