The Plastic Navy is growing.

Yo Stinky! I know you haven't been out on the Yak in hurricane winds, but you been out on her much lately?
The plastic navy grew up these parts last week. I sold the Manta Ray and upgraded to a 15' Ocean Kayak Prowler Trident with the Angler Package which also includes the rudder kit.
Tons of storage and paddles like a dream. I'll work on some pics for you.
all.
Anyone else getting out on theirs?:hi:

Congrats on the new yak CB:beer:

The new Prowlers look really well thought out. I like the pod they have for the fishfinder and that large center hatch. I would like to mount a FF on my FnD but don't think it will be protected enough even if its waterproof. I saw a video on Youtube of a guy in a Prowler cutting through waves and was dry as a bone, looked like a quick yak.

I have been out every weekend since I bought the kayak in May and like it more every trip. I just posted a couple of pics from last weekends surf launching. I'm trying to talk my wife into a Hobie Outback for next year. The price is steep so I'm considering selling my skiff since I really havent used it since I bought the kayak.

A Hobie Outback would be sweet. Too much coin for me though. I got an incredible deal on the Trident. Private sale. The guy won it in a raffle and never used it. He had just purchased a Hobie Revolution. I was going to install a rudder on the Manta Ray which is $200 but was able to upgrade to the Trident with rudder already factory installed and much more storage for the Manta Ray + $320. So I essentially spent an extra $120 for the bigger Yak with lots more storage, better tracking and more *cough, cough* weight capacity. :cen:
I will say though, that the Manta Ray was more comfortable. But I think a gel pad will solve that problem.

Sounds like you got a good deal. The shop where I bought my FnD has a close out on a brand new Hobie Outback for $1400. I think I'm going to hold out for the 2009's, it looks like they made a few improvements to the mirage drive and the rudder system. I won't be ready to buy till next summer anyway.

Do you use a cart? I think thats the next thing I'm going to look into. Some of the higher end carts with the Rolleez wheels are big bucks. I may try and make one, looks like theres a bunch of plans online.

Thats awesome bro!

Its a very nice boat and Im sure you will love it.

I went last wednesday right before the big surges from IKE came into Mobile bay. Just one little red and a few croakers. The rains have really screwed us up and we are waiting on the fall for some good water clearing (IF it will slack off some). I am still going a good bit and my local kayak club is growing each day almost. It started with 4 guys just over a year ago and is almost 100 active members currently. Its definitely getting popular around here as we have plenty of diverse yak friendly waters here. We have our monthly fishout this weekend. Ill try and get some pics of everyone out together fishing.

PICS PLEASE!!!

I could have had his old one if I wanted it! But with my back issues and astuff as of late I let it go and if I feel good next year I might just by one?? Just wasn't in the cards right now for me!!

Besides CTT you just jealous cause your wife getting all the new toys and your not!
