TCW3 oil. 50 to 1

How do you measure accurately 50 to 1 oil?
13 ozs is for 5 gallons of gas. ( 50 to 1).
How do you measure it?
If you measure it in a measuring cup it’s more in valuum than 13 ozs of water.
13 ozs of oil is more than 13 ozs of water in a measuring cup
So how do you measure it?

Go to bass pro or a boat shop and buy a measuring container. Just a plastic round container with a lid. Measurements on the side, just look for the gallons and ratio. Fill it to the line and dump in gas. Takes a lot of guessing out of it.
Dont use your wifes measuring cup!

Funny you said that, I used a measuring cup ,13 ozs but I bought a digital scale that measures ounces and 13 ozs of oil in the measuring cup is only 11.6 ounces of oil on my digital scale. Water is heavier than oil I thought 13 was 13 ounces but it’s not according to what your weighting

You re comparing ounces of weight vs ounces of volume. Apples to lug nuts

13 ounces of lead is the same weight as 13ounces of feathers
13 ounces lead is a lot less volume than 13 ounces of feathers

The mixing ratio is concerned with volume only

Thanks Phatdaddy. You nailed it. It took me awhile to get that in my head but my friend explained it to me just like you did. Volume not ounces
I’m glad that I got the answer cause if I would have put 13 ounces of oil in five gallons ,she would smoke a lot. 23 ounces of volume like in the measuring cup. Perfect.
Thanks for taking the time to explain it to me. You are the new. Spareparts.

plenty of charts, videos, and other ways to keep it straight. I use the plastic jug, makes it easy. 6 gallons of gas to one pint of oil. Or something like that. It can get confusing. I keep a gallon of oil onboard the boat, a mixing jug with 10 gallons worth of oil ready to dump in. I add the oil first, then add the fuel( I always need at least 10 gallons of fuel). When it sounds like its getting full of gas, i stop, add in however much oil I need beyond the initial 10 gallons worth, then give the gas pump one more good squeeze to wash the oil into the tank.
