engine hours (total): 0
length overall (LOA): 14
make / manufacturer: Willards Boat Works
model name / number: Strip Boat
propulsion type: power
year manufactured: 2016
A strip boat is like no other. Over fifty years of trial and error in the craftsmanship of these strip boats. The boat curvature allows it to tilt in turns instead of slide. This kind of boat is one of 7 different kinds. Think about how far Ford / GM went in the first 50 years of making automobiles. Ranging from 9' to 14' in lenght and 22" to 46" in width. With 1/4 to 5/8 concave, 4" to 12" pad on bottom or a flat bottom fishing boat. On high end tunnel boats have 1" to 3" round tunnel. 4" to 12" pad on bottom. I use all hot dipped galvanized crown staples and nails. All stainless steel hardware if you want. 4' x 12' whole sheet of 11/32...4 ply...plywood. Select Cypress and Select West Coast Red Cedar. I also have hard to find very colorful Sinker Cypress. That is 2000 year old AX cut wood. That was cut down 100 years ago. Each boat is one of a kind being hand made to customers preference.
Building boats since 1964 Yvonne Willard passed on to his son. My father and I over the years have come to solving the obvious problems others seem to ignore. It's not just a boat It's a lifestyle. Where others won't.... I will guaranteed you the boat will run the way you would expect it to and what the videos show. I set the trailer and motor up for you. It is a turn key deal. All you have to do is get in and go. It is not tricks on the video that makes the boat run the way they do. it is real. The strip Boat will tilt up to 45 degrees in a turn. You don't get a side G force in a turn in a strip boat. Because the boat will roll in a turn. You get the down G force, like in a motorcycle in a turn. You can turn on a dime, with nine cents on the other side. Also If you have one of my dads old boats or mine and it doesn't want to work right for you. You can call me and tell me what the boat is doing. I can tell you how to fix it over the phone. Most of the time it's the weight of the person that is to light or heavy. When It's set up for you.... it will ride like a cadillac. That goes with my dads old boats too.
I use West Systems Epoxy Risen.....West Systems epoxy is 3 times stronger then Polyester Resin. 15% lighter. Will not shrink at all. Polyester resin will shrink 3% after about 4 to 5 years. You can build a master peace. Or you can copy one. But what be a follower, When you can be followed. Create something...Set it's standard through hard work and vision. Then put you name on it. Because if your not the Original. Your living in shadow of one...WILLARDS BOAT WORKS it all comes back to the Original. If you would like more information go to http://willardsboatworks.com/ for more pictures, styles, sizes and history. See video at http://youtube.com/stripboat/ Need to ask me something my number is show contact info ask for joe.
