Sweet looking 250 Sportsman

always liked that one, i think it is the one with aft bunk on the port side. great for families with kids. i bet it is a monster on a trailer, 25' & a bracket.

I know this is treason talk but I've been debating on selling my V and have been keeping an eye out for a walk around setup.it would work alot better with the fishing I do.And,I can't seem to get any of the crippled guys I take fishing to crawl onto the bow to put the anchor out! When I ask I immediately begin to hear a HUGE array of debilitating ailments they're afflicted with! :)
Last week though I just missed a 23ft sportcrat WA that was priced VERY good and had been rigged better than I probably would have myself!

its not treason,i got rid of my and bought the 23 Sea Ox w/a and i am happy!

Thats a nice family boat right there, not fond of the Merc but some guys like them.

Well it has OMC guages for everything but the tach which is a YAMAHA. It also has a YAMAHA binnacle control on it, so I would say whoever else had it couldn't make up there mind what they wanted through the years.

I towed one with twin 225 EVINRUDES behind my JEEP CHEROKEE about 5 miles to the ramp and back several times. Got alot of funny looks doing it, and stopping was eery to say the least, but I did it.

A single 225 or 250 would be fine on that I believe. Should cruise nice around 25 and I bet a top end of around 40 something.
Also there would definitely be a performance gain with that engine on a bracket

I had an 86 250 Sportsman. They are nice boats. But i did not like it. I had it and my V20 and one had to go. And it was the 250. A V20 has more usable deck space. The 250 rocked way too much for my liking. It needed to be another foot wider at least. Twin engines on the transom were useless for docking. It was sluggish at best. It did have a bigger cabin that was nice but i couldn?t stay in it. The sound of waves slapping the hull turns me queezy fast. The one night i tried sleeping in it i ended up sleeping in the truck. But just the size of it made rough water less nerve racking. I could cruise 25 in 3 to 4 foot seas. You would beat a V to death doing that.
