Sat. was a hoot. Someone broke down in a little Allison w a Merc 280. Towed them 6 miles back to the ramp in the rain on plane.(after we conjured up enough rope to keep them far enough back in the propwash of the V. 28 MPH at 3800 RPM. Woulda got a picture but the rain...) Those two loaded their boat on the trailer, jumped in another Allison and that boat came back on the rope of shame as well. I estimate 15 boats went north at around 10:00 and 30 boats went south at 2:00. The rain had everyone scattered and looking for shelter. Giant bonfire and cookout for roughly 100 people followed.
The Bluegreen Hydrostream was trying to set a speed record at 118 but could only muster 110. The 23' Action Marine with the v-8 Johnson was really trick. That one has the 8 carb setup with offshore exhaust and will suck a six-gallon portable inside out in about 5 minutes.
