Anyone getting any stripers??
I hear they are thick out there now.
I haven't had any luck yet though. I was going to go today but I blew a tranny hose on the way to the boat.:fight:Maybe tomorrow will be better.

I went out yesterday with my daughter and my fiance. As soon as we got out there my fiance started to get seasick. So the trip only lasted about ten minutes. We tried fishing in the river but had no luck. I had my vhf on and everyone seemed to be catching something. Bass,Blues and even Tuna being caught only a few miles off the beach! I have got to catch a fish or my head will explode. Maybe one night after work this week.

havent hardly had a chance to get out this fall...went out 2 weeks ago or so on that REALLY nice wednesday when it was in the 70's....sent the kids to school and daycare and the wife played hookie and off we went...beautiful day....ran WOT throttle down to the shrewsbury rocks and got NADA....boats everywhere.....more crowded than a holiday weekend....tons of fish on the sounder but not a nibble....bunker chunks, peanut bunkers, clams, jigs...some trolling....were catching early in the AM from what I hear but nothing after 10 am (right when we got there)

then completely by surprise to me, yesterday is so friggin warm its unbelievable, I stepped out of the house about 9:00 and thought to myself, oh my god why are we not out today.....well too late to head out now....oh well....definitely want to get out sometime in the next week or two. may have to do an afternoon trip as well as its hard to take the whole day.

I know they are starting to pick them up all around Raritan Bay, Sandy Hook and the Shrewsbury.

Some of my family was at IBSP yesterday in the surf. Lots of guys fishing but not much being caught. They fished for 4 hours with clams and didn't get anything.

They are starting to show up in numbers off Staten Island now. This is the time we have all been waiting for...THEY'RE IN!!!!!:time:

so weird keeping track of them. They are coming down in waves, apparently the first couple of waves bypassed Raritan Bay completely and hit the Barnegat Bay area then moves south pretty quick. The next big batch bypassed all of us and hit Cape May area and they are still catching them there.

I went out this morning before work. I didn't catch anything! Thats not true i caught what i think was a Ling. I was reading tons of fish and seeing lots of birds and blues at the surface. I must be cursed. I was using a clam rig on one pole and was jigging with the other. And as a last ditch effort I even rigged up a bunker spoon and trolled a little bit. But I ran out of time and I had to get to work smelling of skunk.

I was out on the water yesterday and the fish were so thick, you could have walked on them. It was a great site to see fish actually swirling around us everywhere...all bass, schoolies, mostly in the 18-20" range. I have only ever seen this once before. What an amazing day. Just look for the birds working the water.:hide:
