Speaking of steering....

Mine pulls hard left ALL THE TIME???

remember I have an I/O....

any thoughts??? and I have the same amount of weight on both sides of the boat :-/

Well , I guess you will have to bring it to Lewes next weekend,
so MSBHAMMER and I can take it for a test spin
and we MIGHT be able to diagnose your problem.

That is if we don't capsize like reyb's friends did. ;) ;) ;)

I am an outboard guy, but after this winter, I think
I will know more about inboard's than I really want to.
I'll be helping my buddy tear apart his old Evinrude boat,
nobody wants to touch it and those that do, don't know what they are doing,
so we are going the street rod direction and do & learn as we go.

My I/O does the same thing TILL I trim the motor up a bit while underway above planning speed. Then it's all good. My anode it turned to the max.

ok someone show me a pic of this trim anode thingy....I think I know what you are talking about :-/

you guys talking about the zinc?

Its the zinc fin just above the prop, that little fin steers the boat, by moving that one way or the other is like giving you car a front alinement to keep it stright, this does the same thing.

Engine torque, slight variances in the hull lines, outdrive slightly offset to one side and so on and so on. There are to many variables to list that will cause it to pull, but the anode with the rudder is there to compensate for it. And also like stated by HAMMERHEAD, having the outdrive trimmed all the way in will cause a pull from plowing.

if I push mine to the port side it would pull more to the left......i think i need to rotate mine to the starboard side :-/

Swap out your Mercruiser for a Volvo and it will pull right, instead.  You just didn't want it to pull left, no?

On a more helpful note, if I have the drived trimmed to far down at speed, it will pull harder than normal.

I agree, motor all the way down = harder steering. I have NFB so I don't get the pull but I imagine I would have pull without NFB.
