Snuck off today

Well about 6:30 this morning I decided to sneak offshore and drop a bait or two and see what happens. I wanted to go last week for my nephews 16th birthday, but I was busy working:nut:. He was over SUNDAY night because he's changing schools right now and isn't enrolled yet, so this morning I asked him if he wanted to go. Got a late start, but it was alright since MJ had sent down some of that cold air last night and it was 37 this morning. Headed out to my close in honey hole, but the water temps haven't brought the keeper GAG's in close yet. Ended up catching 8 nice MANGROVE SNAPPER there, but I wanted me a keeper GAG BADLY! Ran out a bit furthur since NOAA was wrong for the better this time and it was flat calm out there. Got out to 30 feet and got past the weed lines and went to trolling. Hooked into a 25 1/2" GAG after about 5 minutes of trolling. We trolled for another 30 minutes without another keeper, and I wanted to get in before the wind kicked up again.

Cruised in on calm waters clipping off at 26 knots sucking down 13 GPH, and was back on the trailer by 4:00. Not a bad day all in all considering we left late, and came back early.
