SNOW!!!!!!

>:(Alright, except for you jeff and a few others fortunate enough to live in warmer climes, How much snow did you get out of this storm?
I'm 20 miles south of Boston and I'm seeing 20" outside my door and it's still coming down >:( I got a feeling BS is buried under about that + another 10".
MJ and BS, might be a while till we can check out my winter project since it's filled with snow right now. Plus, I'm on call for a couple extra days next week to make up for yesterday.
I at least got to give another new toy a work out. I bought a new snowthrower this year with some of my unused vacation time check I got a while ago. I bought it at a local equipment shop but when I was shopping around and looked at Home Cheapo, they had at least 50 of every imaginable size outside. Three days ago, I'd say they had 20 or so left. Friday afternoon before the snow started flying, everything was picked clean. Not a single one left. Glad I got mine when I did.

BS is going to be glad to be heading for the west coast I think.

Well Friday I went off Cape and when I came home we were in a white out!! took me little over 2 hours to get home!! Which is 1 hour any other time.
Well that dumped about 6 inches of wet wet snow!! then it froze up.
Sat. brought temps of 40* and a ton of RAIN!!! Washed all 6 inches away!! I had green grass this morning out side!
Today was a wind sweeped snow that never amounted to much?? It snowed all day but very light with the wind. I have about 2 inches now and it is 30.1*

CB - We got hit pretty badly . . . . I'd say 2 feet + total.  Saturady I shoveled out . . . Sunday I borrowed my dad's snowblower, b/c I couldn't find one for sale anywhere and there was no way I was shoveling for 3+ hours again.  Probably whould have though of this ahead of time . . . but I was hoping that the weather people were going to be wrong.  12 inches isn't bad, but 27 inches is too much to move with a shovel.

MJ - you're a lucky man - I have an awful feeling that I won't see green again until I leave B-town.

I am going to be really sad to leave on Feb 1, but I'm not going to miss snow storms like this one.  The good thing about Davis, CA is that it never snows.  If you want snow . . . . you can drive an hour and a half toward mountains where they require 4 wheel drive and chains on your tires during snow storms.   If you drive 60 miles in the other direction, there's fishing is San Francisco Bay all year long.

CB - How much heavier would you guess the formula is?   Is it much more difficult to tow with your truck?

Wish we could fish year round.

Yeah, the Formula is quite a bit heavier. I'd say double what the Wellcraft tips the scales at. Probably around 4000-4500lbs if I had to guess. The truck handles it okay though. I've got the 5.9 liter engine in it. the worst part of the towing is the stopping. The trailer it's on doesn't have any brakes and that's one area where the Dodge trucks are lacking(decent brakes). I hear they've corrected that problem with the newer trucks though. Like me, it needs to diet. I'll be reducing the weight considerably just by removing the twin I/O's and going to a single outboard. Some of the other changes should cut down on weight as well. Excess seating is coming out as well as some stuff the guy built in the cabin. I just started looking around at motors. I'll call the guy in Kingston to see what he might have available in the near future. i also saw on iboats.com a 2001 Yamaha 2 stroke Saltwater series 225hp for 10,000. It's listed as a new demo.? Whatever that means??? Probably has some hours on it but I've got plenty of time to shop around.
I saw that just a couple miles up the road from you in Peabody, they got 36" of snow! :o It just sucks when you think you're all done, then the snow plows come buy and plow you in again. Didn't see any more plows go by anymore last night, then my wife woke me up at 5:00 this morning to go out and clear the end of the driveway again because she couldn't get out. She's got a Grand Cherokee so I said to just drive through it. I guess she tried but the wall of snow was frozen. So, I started up the snowblower and it took care of it very nicely.

MJ - if you have more pics that you want to put up on the gallery . . . . go for it. That part of the site has been moved we now have literally 50 times the space we had before!!!!

Not yet. I have to borrow my brothers camera again plus wait for the snow ta melt. I guess I really should just go get a new camera of my own.
I also spotted this one;

I'm thinking that with the deep vee and bracket, I'm gonna need a 30" lower unit. From a couple people I've talked to and from reading several posting like at the Seacraft site, sounds like the way I'll be leaning.
MJ, I'll be close to that on a wet hull weight. I/O's are quite a bit heavier than outboards, plus when you factor gas and all you're gear, a 4500lb boat can easily get up to 4500-7000 lbs.
