Hey I Read in the Syracuse paper today that Baltimore with 79.9" of snow measured at the Baltimore/Washington Airport has over taken Syracuse with only 76" for the year as the snowiest city in the US. There is a ray of hope for us up here as we are right at our average snow fall for this time of the year while it appears Baltimore must be some what ahead of their average snow fall. Beckley, WV has had a new record set as of yesterday with 101.4" on the ground and Snowshoe, WV is currently at 158" on the ground.

here's an email from a friend:

I just want to know where Al Gore is. He PROMISED us that global warming would be here by now.
The final snow count is 83" for Baltimore and all of it is in my yard!

we g ot 4 inches down here, have'nt had power since last night, I have the generator running the house, just got the internet back up and running.

5-6" here in Wilmington. Melted some during the day, then froze hard last night, but it's "warming" up to the mid 40's early, so it should all be gone by this afternoon. Good to see a little bit though. It's a true rarety down here.

The only time EVER we had snow here in Puerto Rico, was when the late ( R.I.P. ) Mayor of San Juan Capital City, Don~a Felisa Rincon, brought snow in a special cooler-type plane for the kids in P.R. to play with, on a special set-up container-cooler at a local park. She was a really great person, who really cared for EVERYBODY, rich or poor, and stayed in office for 23 years. She was later nicknamed "Lady of the Americas".
I love snow, is fun. When I was stationed in TN, and VA, I used those snowy days to build Radio Controlled Planes, I miss those days, those were great days in my life, my son was a little kid, an he loved to play on the snow.

We were supposed to get a dusting Friday night, ended up with about 3-4, but it was a regular NC snow, melted off the roads by lunch yesterday. But we have had snow on the ground here since before Christmas and I am ready for spring!!!

JJJ, they were going to truck in snow over in Cary a few weeks ago as a fundraiser for something, sold tickets for $10 each but ended up canceling because of snow.
