This is what has kept me sane for the past 6 months...

http://www.franktiano.com/Fljets/FJalbum2017/index.htm Check out the picture gallery. I had no Idea there were so many into R/C let alone jets.. They start at $12,000 and go up over $25K. One unfortunate pilot had equipment trouble and put in a $25K+++ F18. Twin turbines and it was not reacting to the controls as it should. When they go in they typically wind up in ashes.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3_GT5hDSIk It burst into flames seconds after the video ended.
Working the events was fun. Long days on your feet but interesting.
Our local R/C Club hosted Pylon racing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGbEEigiEqE Very interesting. Grand Prix start 3 or four planes at a time. topping 200 mph around a short course, then we had the SAE Collegiate Challenge for college students from around the globe. Our field was open for test/tune the week leading up to the event. We had Poland, China, Turkey, Atlanta, S.Carolina and New York. LOL!
That was a hoot.
Design a plane that can be disassembled and put into a 6" diameter tube 10" tall. Then removing the plane from the tube you have 90 seconds to assemble it and have it ready for flight. Did I mention it has to be a kilo wheels up.. The other classes were equally unbelievable. 55 pounds total weight and only 1000 watts of power to make it go. Unlimited class had a payload drop of 20 pounds and a max gross weight of 55 lbs.
