Quahog for $7,500

Well, I brought home this boat today: http://www.wellcraftv20.com/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=cat_1985&id=page7 , a 248 in I/O format with a 2000 5.7L EFI Mercruiser. This way I can do the camping I have said I want to do with my family and still fish by myself around the rocks.

As such, Quahog has to go. I am going to list her in the local Bargain News :'( for $8,500. If somebody from this board pays me $7,500 before I get a bid from the Bargain News I will happily sell her to you! I know everybody here loves these boats and will treat her well.

You know the details: '86 hull, '03 Johnson bought new in '05, '05 Armstrong bracket. The electical was redone last year for more than I want to admit including a four speaker CD player/stereo. Quahog is in the water and has been used a couple weekends already this year.

The trailer is a yard trailer but rolls fine. It needs new fenders as the existing ones are rotted. Pictures are in the gallery.

Let me know if you want to buy her. She is turn-key and the motor has less than 100-hrs on it. I would really like to sell her to someone on this board.

Matt

CT, hate you are selling the V-20, but I'm also glad to see you move up to another Wellcraft!

Quahog is a very nice rig and considering the motor you have on it, you are letting the hull and trailer go for free.

Someone will be very happy! Good luck on the sale.

thanks for putting the picture up skool. i plan on using this board even with the 248 because i like it here. i will post pics in my Quahog gallery of the "new" boat once it gets in the water, which i expect to be next week. i'll be using Quahog over Memorial Day weekend (unless someone steps up and buys her first)

Skools - while I would love to have the 248, it is not practical at this time. Four hour haul to the coast is bad enough pulling a V20. Plus, all I have right now is Jeep Cherokee, which probably wouldn't even get the 248 rollin :-/ Although, I am looking at a Suburban ;)

I'll stick with the V20 for a while. Once my kids get too big to fit in the cuddy, I'll probably be forced into something else anyway!

All hail Club 248! (and Club 248 wannabees)! You and CT can have all of the honor for now...

Maybe add a ''248'' Section to the Forum and Gallery... 8) 8)...I like those boats and there number around here seem to be on the increase...I'd like to keep up w/ 'em...and can't get enough pictures!!!... ;D ;D...

BR, did I ever mention you a DAWG?!!... ;D ;D...

BR, after towing the 248 home w/my buddies' Chevy 1500 H/D and as a previous owner of a '95 Cherokee that I used to tow Quahog, you are correct in assuming the Cherokee won't get the job done towing a 248! I only went about 15 miles on I95 with the 248 and it is a boat better suited for a slip than a trailer IMO. I'll be selling the trailer that came with the boat as soon as I get it in my slip.

hey CT will your V20 fit the trailer under the 248? My V20 is on a older 24 ft boat trailer maybe you could sell it with it and then sell your V20 trailer for more more alone since several guys on this site are looking for a trailer? just a thought.

Yeah, that's what I thought CT. Buddy of mine has a Grady White gulfstream 23 footer with a Yamaha 250 on bracket and it is a BIG BIG boat. Somewhat comarable to the 248 I would imagine.

Skools, you gonna keep your 248 at EI? Your yard down there got room to keep her or do you have a slip or what? Or are you planning on trailering every weekend?

skool, the trailer under the 248 is MUCH newer than the one under Quahog, so I think I'll get more for the bigger trailer by itself than I will for the one under Quahog. Plus the one under Quahog is all set up for her.

By the way, why hasn't anyone bought Quahog yet?!!! >:( I thought this site was full of people looking for bracketed V-20s!? You can be using her over the long weekend!!!

CT, if I was V20 shopping I'd be all over your boat....in a sorta strange way , it's kinda YOUR fault that I am not... ;)...good luck w/ the sale and good luck w/ the 248

Both BR keeping her here right now moving to the beach soon for awhile. she's staying on the trailer except maybe 3 months out of the yr.

HEY HEY

Did you guys know they made a 248 with a diesel I/O option man i'd love to have one. Has anyone seen one?

thanks phester. we need to meet for that 6-pack!

skool, i'll post pics of my 248 shortly (so long as it's okay with the forum administrator)
