Portsmouth Island Fall 2014 Report

We had 7 guys on the trip, the weather was perfect, the fish were biting. We ended up catching 20 keeper flounder, 2 slot red drum (both just under 27 inches), and plenty of all the other stuff you always catch, spots and blues and pompano.

Dave getting mullet minnows.

Mitchell with his drum.

A nice flounder.

Sunset reflected in the waves.

Just one more cast.

Sunrise from the back porch of the cabin.

Robert reeled in this drum on Mitchell's rod, Mitchell was down the beach catching flounder.

Good keeper flounder.

Dave and I reeled in these 17 inchers at the same time.

A "mess" of flounder...and a couple others to boot.

Another amazing sunrise.

A smaller mess.

If the limit on flounder was still 14" we would have had another 20 keepers...if it was still 12" we would have had 100 total, I've never seen the flounder in the surf like that.

Already looking forward to the spring trip.

Fantastic pictures! Looks like yall had a great time. Nice flounder, thats some good eatin there. Im jealous! How was the weather/temperature?

The weather was perfect...I wore shorts and no waders the whole time, light wind, 70 - 75 degrees.

We ate fresh fish every night until we were stuffed and still had 3 gallon size ziplocks full of filets to take home.

Had a fish fry for the family on Thursday night...just as delicious as on the island.
