Pompano Beach trip

We took a flight down to FLL in search of some swordfishing. My brother keeps his 29 Aquasport in Pompano. Well, we brought a cold front with us. 80 degrees when we landed, 46 degrees when we left. First night we couldn't get it together for swording so we dropped on the reef for some snapper. Took a long time to get it going but we ended up with a dozen y-tails and a nice mangrove. LOTS of shark bite offs.

We lost oil pressure on one engine on the way in. Oil squirting in the bilge. Next day was wasted disassembling front of the engine to find a oil cooler hose with a hole in the 90 deg fitting. Fixed that, reassembled, now a gas leak from the fuel pump. F--- it. Went fishing on one engine. got a couple kings, a wahoo, and a sailfish.

Next day, got 2 wrong fuel pumps, one flooded the carb like crazy and the other leaked. Got a universal electric pump at Autozone and rigged it in. Went fishing...

trolled all day for 2 dolphin...

on the way in the hydraulic fluid hose popped off the autopilot. good thing we had 2 engines.

A week in Florida still has to be pretty good despite your mechanical issues. With all those problems i think you did pretty good all in all.

Nice job....kudos to the crew for sticking with it and overcoming what sounds like some pretty bad luck mechanically speaking...
