On another site I am on frequently there is a discussion on how our nation has fallen behind and we are not the great nation we once were. And why.
Thought I would share something I wrote for that discussion with you fellows.
What separated America from other nations in the world was never that we were the best in every category. We were among the best or the best in many though.
What distinguished America from all other nations was a basic concept that it was built upon. That The People are not granted freedoms from a ruler, a dictator, a king or queen.
Our rights are from a divine Creator, whatever you believe him to be and are not dis solvable by governments or men.
The very fiber of our nation was built on that premise, all enumerated in some of the greatest writings of mankind. The Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and of course the Declaration of Independence.
These things have been perverted by an ever encroaching centralized government that every day steals a little more of the breath of freedom from us.
These perversions have brought our nation to the precipice of calamity and failure. We are fraught with almost half our population living off the backs of others. Multiple generations now of complete slaves to the Orwellian Utopian models of humanity where the only things they know are where to go pick up their checks, and what to burn down if they are not happy about something.
A nation that was built by compassionate people who lived by the notions of individual responsibility strong work ethic, integrity, honesty in all your dealings with others and the courage to do what ever needed to be done to protect your family, neighbors and your country. They lived that way for many generations and built and protected our nation from threats both foreign and domestic.
But a concerted and well organized effort since the early 1900's to alter this nations Constitution and change our nations foundations by people who today are known as "Progressives" but who used to be simply called Socialists, Communists, Marxist's have infected our educational systems, political systems and our mass media outlets. This effort to turn our Constitution into what someone we all know referred to as a quaint piece of paper and establish a ruling hierarchy of entrenched bureaucrats and politicians is coming to fruition.
Thus the precipice we now stand upon.
This coming election is not about whether Romney is the greatest guy for the office, or whether his tax returns should be released or if he was a big business guy.
It is not about whether Obama is likable or not.
It is about turning the corner on where our country is heading. Getting some push back on this Statist agenda and getting control of a government that is going to consume us.
If you want to see our nation return to those number one positions in the world elect someone who will set our people free from this horrible restrictive government. Set the nations people free to build, design, engineer, create, and prosper. Remove the shackles of a government that literally has ensconced itself in every single thing we do in our lives.
Return some semblance of individual responsibility to the people who have literally become wards of the state.
You want our nation back, demand a return to Constitutional government. Elect politicians that will stand up to the over bearing centralized government, that will demand the Federalism insisted upon in the Constitution where the federal government gets its authority from the State's not the other way around.
In other words stand up, get involved, pay attention, demand accountability.
Be an American.
