One Sweet Outboard making 373 HP 463 Tq

one of the guys I met that worked in OMC engineering said those motors had a stop watch life expectancy, not a an hour meter

A lot of the OMC Hi Po stuff was thouroughly tested on lake Hamilton by Second Effort. They can't last long running on the ragged edge.
That would push the V for sure. I'm thinking auxilary fuel tank Ferm.

A neighbor around the corner has one of those on an old Eliminator hull. Been sitting there for years.

What makes it an F1 Ferm?

The F1 was the factory race engines. They turned INSANE RPM's right out of the box, buit like Spare said they were a short lived engine. If it is origanal the easiest way to tell is the 8 2 barrel carbs hanging off the front of the engine. All of the fishing engines, and even most of the performance engines only had the 8 one barrel plastic carbs. The F1 engines had 8 of the same carbs that came on a 115, except a 115 used 2 of em and the F1 V8 used 8.
