Oh Lumber !!!

Was hoping to have more done. Figured I could left the walls myself, but soon realized that I'm no young buck no more. Had to call my cousin to help lift the walls in place. Even with two guys, the walls killed me.

Ceiling joist will be 2x12x24", not sure if thats easier then using 2x12x12, but I would have to stick in a center beam. Roof pitch will be a 6-12 pitch.

Anybody do garage doors ??? Wondering how much the doors will cost me. Front opening of door 16x8 with the rear door being 9x8' opening.

Also need to decide if I should just run vinyl siding on the front or go with a fake cedar siding effect.

The reason for the project V being on E-Bay is I need $$$ for the shingles.
I purposely built the garage and rear garge door just for the V. Guess I can always get another V in the future.

garage doors are typically a 7 ft. height by an 8ft or 16ft width. So 8h x 16w, and 8h x 9w may be "custom".....expect 35% more in price verses a stock size. I know Clopay is a decent door.....2" thick insulated 7x8 will go about 450.00, 7x16 is roughly double the price. Single skin doors [non insulated] are less but they dent easier. I would skip the fancy window grills/ sunbursts etc., they break easy and they're expensive. my 0.02

Thanks Phester. I wanted to go with a taller opening, so I can pull in a truck that might have ladder racks, or pulling in a boat that might have a top on.

A few more Pics. Thought I could do this myself, but realized I needed help. Called in my two cousins to lay the ridge in. Roof Rafters were a pain as well. Alot of cutting. 36 rafters, with each rafter getting three differnt cuts.

Still need to adjust my height opening for the garage. The height is 8' 8". Need to pak the top down 8" I think.
