ocean runing

Very nice. Seeing all that space in the front makes we want a dual console instead of a cudy. I've found very little use for my cudy especially in our weather down here. It's scorching in there.

I love my dually we have bean bag chairs for the bow and its very comfortable.
I agree with the heat inside the cuddy its got to be brutal.

The next time someone says these are wet running boats, show them that video... Not a single drop of water came over the bow... Now I know, the seas were semi-flat, but even so, that was at speed and there were a few sets in there that lifted the boat and set it back down roughly...and no water came in or over... I rest my case.

Sweet video....what do you think your top speed was? I thought I saw 5000 rpm on the tach.... What day was that , it was flat out there.

Don't get better than that, Slinger...nice ride, but you really oughtta clean that thing up some before ya start shootin' videos...:you:

It is a dry boat...as long as there is no wind.

With the right wind, the boat is extremely wet. I have hit this wind a few times.

You ever see a Destroyer set it's entire bow under the water? With the right wind and seas, any boat is extremely wet. LOL (But I agree, I've gotten wet a number of times in my boat.. but it's still a great vid to show people how dry they really are.)

It was this passed sat lite wind ,sets were far apart , running between 3500/4000 rpms about 7 miles out of little egg inlet. no fish just alot of skates.

Stuffed bow into a wave

I've always considered my V to be a pretty dry ride under most conditions, but a few weeks
ago while entering barnegat inlet from the ocean, running with the waves under rough
conditions, I ran over the top of one wave, and stuffed the bow into the back of the next
wave in front of me sending a sheet of water over the windshield drenching everyone
on board. It was an intense moment, but I did not feel out of control or in danger.
It was just one of those querky things that can happen. But in the future, I'm going to
slow down a little under those conditions.

Hi Destroyerman,

When I was on the USCG Tamoroa, a 210 foot "sea tug", I do remember sea's that caused the bow to go under water. Pretty cool to watch from the flying bridge (I was just a seaman on watch) Yea, if there was anyone on deck, being wet would be the least of their problems...

I still stand by my comments. My experience is that the V20's send so much water up and away that the water too easily catches the wind and sprays right back at you. Perhaps I just catch this wind\wave combination more than others.

I hear ya lucky thats one nasty inlet , it always eats about a dozen or so boats a yr, Ive been in a 65 fter coming threw there and paryed for my life.

RoadKingCole, in theory I agree with you .. but again, like I said before, in the right conditions I think any boat or ship will get very wet very cquickly. (and yes, it's really a cool thing to be standing on the bridge and watch the bow plow into a huge wave and disappear, feel the entire ship shudder from the force of tons of water being displaced in seconds, and then to see the bow suddenly come up from under the water like a submarine, shaking off the water in a huge wall of spray.. totally beautiful)

When I lived in Toms River in the 70's I used to fish Barnaget all the time... Saw more than a few half submerged boats (hulls) being towed to the coast guard station. Ever since they put in the North Jetty in it's caused more problems than it fixed.. They were supposed to realign the South Jetty to cut down or eliminate the shoaling but I'm not sure if they ever did it. It's a nasty inlet though. :cen: Personally I'm glad I don't have to go through it anymore..
