new truck!!

Well I bought me a new truck today. My buddy had a 1998 Dodge dakota 4x4 with a 5.2L magnum in it. This truck flat hauls a$$!! It has 120,000 miles on it. the body is super clean but has the classic clear coat damage. the a/c is broken so I need some advice on that. the interior is imaculate! and guess what I paid for it? $1500.00 dollars!! SHES BAD A$$ I will post pics tomorrow.

The 5.2L runs OK, if you think it's quick you should drive one with a 4.7L in it. As for the A/C, the evaporator cores in them were known to fail. not to bad of a job if you know what your doing. I used to do them in just over 2 hours. At the age of the truck it could also be a compressor. They tend to be pretty good for 10-12 years, but after that the shaft seal can start to leak at anytime. And if it starts to mysteriously use oil, open the throttle up and look down into the intake for oil. The intake plenum gaskets are known to blow out and let oil suck through on the 3.9L, 5.2L, and 5.9L.

thanks for all the help guys. 1/2 a quart used every 3000 miles I dont think thats to bad. Im bringing the truck to my buddy down on the island tomorrow to get a diagnosis on the a/c. My buddy thats looking at the a/c has a single cab 2 wheel drive with the 5.9 L and its fast as crap also. Im happy with the purchase shes a cool little truck. I sold my 2007 f250 and bought this Dakota:money: and put 3000.00 in the bank so im stoked right now not to have a truck payment.

I have a '03 with the 4.7 and 75,000 miles. Love mine too. No clear coat issues with mine though. Maybe they fixed that by 03.

I love the Dakotas. Always thought that Dodge nailed the classic pick up truck look with their designs. Maybe not the most lavishly appointed truck in the interior, but then again...it's a truck. Best of luck with yours
