Tires have gotten outrageous. Cost me a grand to put my new 285 cooper on the Tahoe. And I went a cheaper route. Its gotten crazy. It ain't hard to drop 12to1500 on a set.
The excuse has been the increased cost of energy... fuel, transportation, manufacturing, etc. Funny how gas has decreased by over a third in the last several months, but I haven't seen a single price decrease in anything else...
I'm sure it's just a mistake and everything will soon decrease in price to keep up with the lower cost of energy now.
(Gas station near me is now selling reg grade gas, cash price of $2.49 a gal., down from $3.45 about 4 months ago).
